<p>In an anti-jack-knifing arrangement between a tractor vehicle (101) and a trailer (102) wherein a turntable (110) is mounted on the tractor vehicle for rotation about a vertical axis and carries a brake member (114) for rotation therewith and having opposing horizontal parallel faces defining brake surfaces and brake callipers (115) are mounted on the tractor vehicle for operative engagement with such brake surfaces, while themselves being restrained from movement about the vertical axis; a fifth wheel coupling (118) having a socket to receive a coupling pin (119) on the trailer (102) is secured to the turnable (110) for rotation therewith, and adjustable trailer engaging members (125) are secured to the fifth wheel coupling (118) to engage with a portion (126) of the trailer and prevent relative rotation of the trailer (102) and the fifth wheel coupling (118).</p> |
