The box has a tubular body (2) made of plastic or any other suitable material, with a circular or rectangular cross-section. The ends of the body fit over a lid and a base each consisting of a flange (3a) which slides inside an end of the body and which extends from a base wall (3b). The flange slightly tapers to ensure a tight fit. The base is fitted with internal supports for the objects being packed. Each of the base and lid has two or more tabs (5) which may be folded to vertical positions against the sides of the body. Each tab has a stud which is pressed through a hole in the side of the body and a hole in the base or lid flange, thus fixing base or lid to the body, but allowing the base or lid to be easily removed.
