The slicing machine with electric motor drive has circular rotating cutters. This cutter rotates in the vertical plane and has a stop for adjusting slice thickness. This stop has long life even under hard operating conditions and it cannot be tilted. The stop plate (17) is moved by an actuating lever drive with an adjusting arrangement for changing the slice thickness. The moving top plate (17) has a base with guide sleeve which passes through the baseplate of the housing (11, 12). The other end of the sleeve is connected to the actuating lever which moves within a cavity of the baseplate (19). This actuating lever is coupled to the adjusting element by a connecting rod.
