1470608 Measuring voltage BOLIDEN AB 3 Sept 1974 [5 Sept 1973] 38349/74 Heading G1U The average value of a signal contaminated by noise if measured by integrating over a period long enough to reduce the average noise level to zero. The incoming signal is converted to pulses 1, which are integrated 2, the integrator being set to zero at the start of the measurement. A generator 4 produces gating signals at predetermined times to a memory 3 which thus holds the value of the integral at those instants. The memory output is applied to a calculator 5 along with a value representing the actual time elapsed since the start of measuring. When the calculator output (integral value divided by time) remains constant over successive gating times, the integration has continued long enough and the measurement is interrupted by an observer or automatically. |
