A dental hand tool having and optical fibre arrangement with devices to adjust the intensity of light emitted from the tool end. Construction includes two conduction sections (5, 6) which are mounted in the tool holder (1). The adjustment devices (7-9) are formed by spacers which provide the separation of the front faces (13, 14) of the two fibre optic sections (5, 6) and thus the alteration of the light emission.
