<p>Packing for plants forming a head, esp. lettuce, includes a wrapping from a flexible material. The wrapping consists of a ring shaped strip (1) with openings (2) in its middle part between edges. The ring shaped strip (1) surrounds the leaves of the plant head and encloses the head under slight tension. Due to the slight tension, the ring shaped strip (1) is subjected to an elongation which is smaller along the edges than in its middle part. The edges are reinforced by folding over the material. The strip (1) is of transparent foil. The openings (2) are round, oval or square with rounded corners and are arranged in one of more rows.</p> |
