<p>The pressure vessel (1) is sealed by the end cover (2) provided with an O-ring (7). The flanges (4, 5) of the vessel (1) and cover (2) are clamped together by a number of U-shaped clamps (3). Half of the U-shaped clamps are secured by screws (6) to the underside of the flange (4) around one half of the circumference. A hydraulic piston (8) supplied with fluid through the inlet (9) exerts a force on the cover flange (5). A similar set of U-shaped clamps (3) are attached to the cover flange (5) and exert a force on the vessel flange (4). When the hydraulic pressure is released the cover (2) can be swung in the horizontal plane clear of the vessel (1).</p> |
