The drill-carrying bracket (6) slides on a square cross-section column (4) with one of its edges provided with toothing (30). The toothing meshes with a pinion keyed on a shaft with its one end carrying a hub (15) through which an operating arm (12) is fitted. On the shaft a disc has notches around its circumference. A push button (21) stem and arresting lug mesh with the notches. The mechanism contains also spiral return spring with one end fixed to an angle piece fitted to the notched disc and the other end anchored in a slot on hub.
