<p>Process for making a humus fertiliser from a biological waste such as animal manure, clarifier sludge etc. consists of a rotting tower with an inlet at the top for the waste. This is, at least in part, agitated in the tower and has a gas, e.g. air, passed through which supports a biological conversion process. There is an outlet at the tower base which discharges directly into a drying chamber below contg. a number of rotating rakes or shafts mounted parallel to each other. These lift the material up and throw it over onto the adjacent rake. Between the rakes are adjustable baffles for the material. There is provision for adding a drying chemical to the mixer together with inlets for heated air.</p> |
