Imaginary target plane for firing practice - has angle scanners with electronic and optical systems for recording projectiles

The system is used for determining and recording the space coordinates of a free-flying projectile, moving within the field of an imaginary target plane which replaces the conventional solid target. The determination and recording is carried out with an optical and electronic recording system. The target system ensures that on continuous firing, the information about given projectiles is correctly collected. It also ensures that the inclined position of a projectile does not prejudice results. The recording system has opposite angle scanning systems (9). The latter are arranged in the imaginary target planes (16) and outside the firing field (18). This firing field (18) has an illumination unit (10) which is triggered by a projectile (30). Each angle scanner (9) covers the whole firing field (18). It has a rotating mirror and an image-forming optical system between the rotating mirror and a photodiode.
