Inspection door for self:cleaning ovens - with the spacing between glass sheets of inner laminate less than that between an outer sheet and laminate

Oven door with inspection window consists of an inner laminate of several parallel sheets of glass arranged with a spacing between them. The window is completed by an outer sheet of glass. Between the laminate and the outer sheet of glass is a space which is open to the atmosphere to allow convection. Around the edge is a layer of insulation. The gap between the sheets in the laminate is pref. ca. 3 mm. while that between the laminate and the outersheet is ca. 15 mm. The glass sheets of the laminate are held in compression between frames with insulating material between them. A seal is provided between the outer frame and the oven edge, with a heat reflecting shield of e.g., Al foil.
