The guide rail consists of a 'C' shaped outer rail with a second rail (2) running inside it. Rollers (5) may be provided between the respective rail bases (6). The outer rail base (4) has side walls (7) turned up to right angles and whose free edges are bent inwards to form a flange (8). The inner rail base has side walls (9) bent at right angles to form outwardly upturned edge strips (10). The inner and outer rail edges (10, 11) grip each other. The radius of the respective side wall bend 180 deg. is greater than half the thickness of the steel walls. The outer rail edge (11) extends to at least half the height of the inner rail edge (10).
