The low voltage halogen incandescent filament lamp has a reflector held in a housing. This housing has a transformer connected to the mains supply, and the whole arrangement is readily fastened to a support. The tubular housing (11) accommodates the reflector dish (28) with its central lamp (27) and internal transformer (22). The transformer consist of two component transformers or of a single multi arm transformer. The windings (24) of this transformer are distributed on at least two arms of the transformer core. Alternatively the transformer can be an enclosed unit. The reflector (28) for the lamp (27) closes one end of the housing (11). The transformer supports the lamp socket (26).
