1470586 Photographic silver halide film assembly FUJI PHOTO FILM CO Ltd 14 Aug 1974 [14 Aug 1973] 35861/74 Headings G2C and G2X A photographic film assembly comprises a film container 1, containing stacked light-sensitive sheets 30, each of which is planar and parallel to a front wall 12, of the container 1, having an exposure opening 10, and each of which sheets is also parallel to a pressure plate 2, which urges the sheets 30, towards the front wall 12, each sheet 30, comprising a transparent support 40, bearing, in order, on the side of the support away from the front wall 12, at least one silver halide emulsion layer 41, and a light-intercepting layer 42, of a hydrophilic colloid containing a light absorbent to prevent light-sensitive sheets, further from the front wall than the sheet adjacent the front wall, being fogged during exposure of the latter sheet. The container 1, may contain a light-intercepting sheet 36, arranged so that on removed the exposed sheet 30, from a camera it is protected on both sides from fogging. Either or both the support 40, and sheet 36, may be coated with an adhesive to provide light-intercepting adhesion when the sheets are contacted before removal from the camera. The light absorbent may be carbon black, see Examples 1, 2 and 4, or colloidal silver, see Example 3. The light-intercepting layer may be removed after processing, see Example 4. The light-sensitive silver halide material may be a silver salt diffusion transfer material, see Example 1, containing a polymeric acid layer for neutralizing alkali after processing, a diffusible dye releasing coupler containing material, see Example 2, a coupler containing silver halide material, see Example 3, or a negative silver halide material, see Example 4. The diffusion transfer material may be associated with a rupturable container retaining processing liquid. The film assembly in Fig. 5 comprises an envelope-like composite 39, as shown in Fig. 6.
