摘要 <p>1456898 Supplying pneumatic conveyers with material UOP Inc 1 April 1974 [2 April 1973] 14274/74 Heading B8A [Also in Division B1] A combined solids-withdrawal and transport vessel 38 used to remove particulate catalyst from a moving catalyst bed and then transport the catalyst in a fluidized state comprises (i) a tubular chamber 44 having a plurality of catalyst inlet pipes 22 extending into its upper end; (ii) a first central pipe 45 extending within the chamber and terminating short of the chamber bottom; (iii) a plurality of baffles 43 mounted vertically between pipe 45 and the chamber wall to divide the chamber radially into compartments 49 of equal volume and each associated with an inlet 22, the baffles terminating short of both the top and bottom of the chamber; (iv) a second central pipe 46 mounted within pipe 45 and again terminating short of the chamber bottom; (v) a solids-transport medium supply conduit 40 communicating with the annular space 47 between pipes 45 and 46; and (vi) a solids-purge medium supply conduit 39 in open communication with the upper end of the chamber. In use, catalyst particles are withdrawn by gravity through conduits 22 to fill the chamber, the catalyst flowing in counter-current to purge medium, e.g. hydrogen, introduced through conduit 39. When the level of the catalyst in the chambers reaches the bottoms of the conduits 22, then the purge medium pressure from conduit 39 is increased to prevent further catalyst flowing down conduits 22 and a transport medium, e.g. nitrogen or hydrogen, is introduced into annulus 47 to lift the catalyst particles from the chamber via pipe 46 and line 41.</p>
