1363218 Collapsible tubes TUBOPLASTFRANCE 22 March 1973 [23 March 1972] 13886/73 Heading B8D [Also in Division B5] A collapsible tube formed from a laminate of metal and thermoplastic material with the outer layers comprising thermoplastic material, is closed by gripping the end of the tube, preheating the zone to be welded by the application of external heat, welding the zone by induction heating and cooling the resulting joint, (see Division B5). The laminate 10, Fig. 1, from which the tube 11 is made may comprise an aluminium sheet 101 coated with polyethylene copolymer layers 102, 103 provided with polyethylene layers 104, 105. A polyethylene layer 106 is provided on the layer 105 to lie on the outside of the tube and may be deposited before or after the production of the tube. The tube 11, Fig. 2, comprises a cylindrical or frustoconical body 111 having a longitudinal welded joint 114, a dispensing head 112, preferably moulded on to the body 111, and a transverse weld 113 produced after filling. |
