The travelling roller for cable railways is axially and rotatably mounted on a bolt, with running gear with conical roller bearings on both sides, and sealing rings on both sides of these, together with a centrally sited spacer socket. The spacer socket (3) is mounted between the inside rings (2) of the conical roller bearings, and an element acting under pressure (4) is mounted between their outside rings (1). Axial forces influencing the outside rings of the bearings, within a prescribed permissible range, are brought to bear irrespective of the exact tolerances of the spacer socket, and of the tractive moment of the travelling roller bolt (2). The element subject to pressure may be a rubber ring with support discs (5) on both sides.
