<p>The chuck for holding a drill has clamping jaws which slide in sloping internal guide grooves in the chuck outer cone when this is rotated. The chuck has a central actuating core with truncated conical end. This conical section has a symmetrical trapezoidal screw thread for moving the clamping jaws and for exerting high wedging force on the drill. The central core which is connected to the motor spindle has a truncated conical end for actuating jaws, and a collar which rests on ball bearings which in turn rest on the closing plug. Around the base of the core is arranged a collar by which the spindle can be held by means of blind holes. This collar is held on the core by a locking screw. A braking pad is held against the core by a spring and screw when the drill is used as an impact drilling machine.</p> |
