<p>A signal processing system is based on the use of surface elastic waves, the process is based on correlation or mixing providing an intermediate signal resulting from the interaction of one nonlinear surface elastic wave and a second such wave or an electro-magnetic wave. The output waveform is derived from the interaction of this intermediate signal which has been stored and a further surface or electro-magnetic wave. The processor is formed on a single substrate, such as titanium niobate, having two sets of interdigitised electrodes laid at each end of the block, providing the transmit and receive elements. Storage is providing by a layer deposited on the substrate between the two electrode gps.</p> |
