The cylindrical stator is encompassed by a tensioning sleeve (15). The tensioning sleeve (15) has the form of a slitted tube. So as to be able to set the discharge pressure in a simple manner and thus to compensate for the discharge loss caused by the drive, there is disposed on the outside of the tensioning sleeve (15) along the slit (13) one bar (8 and 10, respectively) each. Acting on the bars (8, 10) there is the tensioning appliance proper which consists of a frame (1) which is supported on the one bar (8) in a fixed manner and on the other bar (10) via an eccentrically rotatable cam (2). By means of the cam (2) being twisted, the bars (8, 10) can be pressed against one another which results in a narrowing of the stator cross-section. Eccentric worm screw pumps of this type are particularly suitable for delivering abrasive materials such as cement mortar or lime mortar for example. <IMAGE>
