Connection between electric motor and pump - has rotor screwed onto motor spindle and pump housing bolted to motor shroud

A pump and motor assembly has a pump rotor made of plastics, moulded onto a steel core. This core has a sleeve end which fits over the correspondingly stepped end of the motor shaft. The extremity of the shaft is threaded externally for the rotor core which is internally threaded. The rotor is enclosed by a two part plastics casing with the outer part welded to the inner part by a peripheral weld. The outer flange of this casing is secured to a shroud around the end of the motor by a set of bolts. A set of seals and bearings is mounted between a boss on the pump casing and the motor shaft.
