The automatically flushing cistem for lavatories uses a folding seat forming an air chamber. the chamer is connected to the flushing mechanism by a pipe which enters a second chamber enclosed by a bellows. The bellows are normally held open by a spring which is connected at the bottom to a rigid bar. The bar joins a jaw mechanism which is held closed by a spring around a ball. A person sitting on the flap causes an air pressure to elongate the bellows and maintain the jaws closed. As the person stands, the suction on the bellows open the jaws and sends water into the lavatory bowl through the flap. As the water level falls below the bellows, they expand again and close the water release valve.
|
