Waterproof overtrousers or one-piece suit made in weldable plastic film material is reinforced in the knee region at the front of the trouser legs by pieces of film material which are attached at the edges and sealed off by welded seams. On the reinforcing piece of at least one leg above the knee may be fixed a pocket of transparent film material. The rear of the trousers may be reinforced by a piece of a film material extending from the seat region over the calf regions of the legs and sealed at its edges by a welded seam. The elbows may also be similarly reinforced. Between the material of the suit itself and that of the reinforcing pieces may be disposed padding, consisting of either a fleece of weldable plastic fibres fixed by welded points, or a layer of foam material.
