<p>A winding for transformers is designed to avoid the need for expensive deburring without at the same time causing damage to the insulation between the discrete layers of the winding. It consists of strip, conductive material whose width is reduced at least along one of its edges prior to the winding of the strip material into a coil, by repeated folding and beading. The edge(s) of the strip material having a border(s) formed into a burr(s) during the cutting process is folded and beaded, such that the burr(s) is brought into contact with the surface of the strip. The strip material is folded inwards and beaded along both edges by one quarter of its width.</p> |
