The method of air conditioning of completely or partially enclosed workplaces is carried out with a cooling unit and a secondary electrical heater. The air which is dehumidified and reheated by the cooling unit is blown into the work room, optionally after passing over the secondary heater and either passes out through working openings or is passed through a ground suction unit into a return pipe for recycling in a partially or completely closed circuite to the fan. In case of a closed air circuit, a very low air moisture content can be obtained, which even allows dewatering of the work materials. The installation may include a cooling unit with heat exchangers, a fan, a secondary heater, a run-off for water or condensation and switching pipes for a washing machine, to provide a closed air circuit which can be used for drying spun-dry clothes.
