Novel ortho- and ortho'-disubstituted 2-phenyliminoimidazolidines of the formula I are obtained by reaction of ethylenediamine with a compound of the formula II. The latter is prepared from novel 2,6-disubstituted anilines. The meaning of Z follows from Claim 1.
