<p>Method comprises grinding and opt. roughening the tread, applying adhesive, fitting a prevulcanised tread strip and surrounding the whole assembly with a tight sleeve clamped to the supporting rim and then pressurising inside and outside the tyre. Before the pressurising state, the whole assembly is placed in a closed vessel, esp. an autoclave which can be evacuated, and is subjected to vacuum treatment. The pressurising and heat treatment can then be carried out in the same autoclave. Air inclusions are completely eliminated by the vacuum treatment, without the need for complicated equipment.</p> |
