A well packer adapted to be run in and retrieved by wireline incorporates an inflatable packing sleeve and a timer mechanism arranged to cause sequential inflation and deflation of the sleeve by causing the interior thereof to be connected via valves firstly to a source of pressurized gas carried by the packer and secondly to a low pressure sink, e.g. the well bore. In the packer disclosed, the packing sleeve is adapted to take and retain an impression of openings in a well liner. |
