The apertures 24 are smaller than apertures 26 and with the spool maintain a constant predetermined minimum flow to the steering system when the spool has moved to the right by differential fluid outlet pressures so that the apertures 26 are covered by surface 82 of the spool bore. When the spool is positioned so that flow takes place through both series of apertures 24, 26, land 42 on the spool acts to throttle the flow to the outlet 38 and the spool moves under differential fluid outlet pressures to maintain the flow to outlet 30 at a constant predetermined maximum flow. In a modification the apertures 24 are positioned in the spool to the left of land 42.</p> |
