PURPOSE:To eliminate beat disturbance due to crosstalk component by changing a center frquency of an angular modulating circuit at each unit period to allow an unnecessary component in a reproduced line sequential chrominance signal to enter a blocking band of a comb line filter. CONSTITUTION:The frequency of the beat component at the center carrier is f-f', where (f) is the center carrier frequency of the angular modulation line sequential chrominance signal recorded on a prescribed track and f' is that of an adjacent track. The said frequency is selected to a frequency corresponding to a trough of the characteristic of the comb line filter 28. Thus, the carrier frequency of the angular modulating circuit 10 in the recording system is made different by the frequency at the trough of the filter 28 every time a track is formed on a magentic tape 18. As a result, the frequency offset is applied to the angular modulation line sequential chrominance signal between adjacent tracks and the beat component is eliminated by the filter 28 of the reproducing system.
