1510949 Magnesia-chrome bricks VEITSCHER MAGNESITWERKE-ACTIENGES 22 Sept 1976 [3 Oct 1975] 39337/76 Heading C1J Fired refractory bricks are produced from a mixture of sinter magnesia and from 26-56% chrome ore based on the weight of the mixture, which starting materials both contain fine grains with a size below 0À15 mm, by a process of moulding the mixture into bricks and firing the bricks at a temperature of 1700‹C to 1900‹C, in which process (a) of the sinter magnesia used, from 2-10% based on the weight of the mixture has a grain size of up to 0À1 mm, at least 70% by wt. of this proportion being present in a grain size below 0À06 mm; and (b) the chrome ore used has coarse grains of 0À5 to 5 mm in an amount of 10 to 40% by wt. of the chrome ore and fine grains up to 0À1 mm in an amount of 90-60% by wt. of the chrome ore, the proportion of these fine chrome ore grains below 0À06 mm amounting to at least 70% by wt. |
