<p>The machine has a power driven, horizontal roller, set transversally of the direction of tractor travel, and a phytotoxic liquid is supplied to the roller surface to be transferred to the weeds as the tractor. The direction of rotation of the roller is pref. such that all points in the lower half of its circumference move towards the front of the tractor. Used for destroying unwanted plant life such as weeds and parasitic plants partic. diseased sugar beet plants standing above the rest of the crop. The phytotoxic liquid is applied only to plants which are touched by the transfer roller.</p> |
