The Fire-door has two opening sections, with a metal framework protected by insulating panels, the whole being encased in sheet-metal. They are made of a mixture of plaster, glass, and rock or asbestos fibres. This mixture is then enclosed in a protective casing of board or a similar material. The presence of the fibres prevents the panels from cracking too quickly under the effect of the heat. The panels are glued to the metal frame and the sheet-metal exterior by means of a fire resistant adhesive such as asbestos containing a mixture of soda silicate.
|
