<p>The safety belt forms a reel (4) contained inside a housing (110) fixed to the upper part of the vehicle body pillar. Also inside the housing is one hald (119) of an electromagnet, fitted to pivoting arms (117). Each arm retains an articulated link (115), attached to a bar (113) which crosses in front of an aperture. The belt (6) passes behind and around this bar. An inertia switch on the brake pedal energises a magnetic core (120) in the case of a sudden deceleration. This repulses the part fitted to the arms, and when this moves away, pulls down (F1) the bar to trap (122) the belt.</p> |
