The tiles pass from the drier over a roller conveyor and are positioned on a chain conveyor moving at right angles to the first conveyor. The positioning is achieved by rollers which are a continuation of the first set, but are caused to move up and down between the chains by a crank arrangement. The tiles encounter square frames rotating about a horizontal axis transverse to the direction of motion. These frames and pushers stack the tiles side by side, but on edge on a third chain conveyor. Bars on adjacent chains rise up and down, separating batches of tiles by moving them temporarily at higher speed. Tying wire is supplied from bobbins and from the binder, the batches pass to the loading plate where they are stacked as required by grabs.
|
