The grinding machine for use with curved work pieces, is faster for knives, having a machine bed and a tensioning or mounting table for the workpieces. A grinder head carriage can move along a guide track on the machine table upon which a height adjustable guider tool and drive are mounted. The grinder unit can be vertically moved relative to the grinder head carriage. The grinder unit is supported on a curved case attached to the machine bed by means of a guide roller.
