摘要

The copolyester contains units derived from terephthalic acid, butanediol-1,4 and neopentyl glycol, the content of neopentyl glycol being 0.5-5 mole%. The copolyester has a relative viscosity of 1.4-1.75, measured on a 0.5 wt. % soln. in a phenol/o-dichlorobenzene mixt. (wt. ratio=3/2) at 25 degrees C. The a material can be injection moulded at relatively low temps., e.g. 230 degrees C, compared with polybutylene terephthalate. The general mechanical properties, e.g. surface hardness, dimensional stability, modulus of elasticity and thermal stability, are the same. The copolyester may contain 1-10 wt. % reinforcing filler, esp. glass fibres.
