PURPOSE:To observe bubbles visually and easily, and to improve precision on the measurement of various characteristics by specifying the composition of a magnetic garnet film having uniaxial anisotropy vertical to a layer supported onto a base body. CONSTITUTION:In a magnetic garnet film, which has uniaxial anisotropy vertical to a support layer on a base body and is represented by Y3x-y-z-pSmx, Luy, Bip, Caz, Fe5-z, Gez, O12, the values of x, y, z, p are each kept within the ranges of 0.50<=x<=0.72, 1.15<=y<=1.65, 0.40<=z<=0.54 and 0.05<=p<=0.30. The raw-material oxides of Y2O3, Sm2O3, Lu2O3, Bi2O3, CACO3, Fe2O3 and GeO2 are mixed, dissolved into the solvent of the mixture of PBO and Bi2O3 and PbO, B2O3 and Bi2O3, grown through a LPE method, and dissolved at a temperature of approximately 1,200 deg.C in an electric furnace, the temperature is lowered and a supercooling state is realized, and a Gd3Ga5O12 substrate is dipped into the supersaturate solution. Accordingly, bubbles are easily observed, thus improving accuracy on the measurement of various characteristics.
