Ships sewage treatment plant - using flocculants, electrolytic reactor, settling basins and sludge incinerator

The sewage is passed, after the admixture of flocculants, through a shredding pump and into a settling basin. An electrolytic treatment in the following reactor uses the oxygen and hydrogen released to oxidise organic matter and kill all bacteria. The solids are deposited in a final settling tank. The sludge is incinerated and the clarified water is discharged overboard. This requires no bacterial cultures for biochemical treatment which may be detrimentally affected in the tropics. The system eliminates organic waste as well as kills all germs and is instantly ready for use, with a high functional reliability.
