The container for storing sound tape cassettes includes vertical partition strips on two opposite long walls for locating and separating the cassettes. The container consists of a frame (1) open at the top and at the bottom and provided on inner surface of the two opposite long walls (17) with partition strips (6). The width of the partition strips (6) is smaller than the depth of the cassettes (5). The top and bottom of the frame (1) is closed by a cover. The distance (W) between two opposite surfaces (6a) of two adjoining partition strips (6) is equal to the thickness of the back side (8) of the cassette (5) plus a smaller clearance. The distance (A) between outside surface (6b) of two adjoining partition strips (6) is equal to the thickness of the wide guide side (7) of the cassette (5).
