Dyeing textile by passage around roll with transfer sheet - and applying vacuum so dye transfers to textile from transfer sheet

A continuous textile is dyed by passage around a roll sandwiched between a transfer sheet carrying a dye and a presser belt. The roller is heated and a suction is applied so that the dye transfers by sublimation from the transfer sheet to the textile. The suction is applied to a suction chamber which is pressed against the roller and which is hermetically sealed against the presser belt passing around the roll. The arrangement is cheap to produce and allows a constant vacuum to be applied, thereby ensuring uniform transfer of the dye.
