1468944 Supersensitized photographic silver halide emulsions FUJI PHOTO FILM CO Ltd 15 July 1974 [16 July 1973] 31331/74 Heading G2C Photographic silver halide emulsions are supersensitized to wavelengths in the green region of the spectrum by incorporating a supersensitizing amount of at least one dye of the Formula:- where A1, A2, A3 and A4 are each H, halogen, OH, CN, CF 3 , COOH, alkyl, alkoxy, alkoxycarbonyl, amino, alkylamino, alkoxycarbonylamino, acyl, acyloxy, acylamido or aryl, or A1 and A2 and/or A3 and A4 may form a benzo ring, R‹ is H, alkyl or aryl, R1 and R2 are each alkyl which may be substituted or aralkyl provided at least R1 or R2 is sulphoalkyl, X1 is an anion and-n is 0 or 1; and at least one dye of the Formula:- where Z1 and Z2 each form an optionally substituted thiazole, benzothiazole, naphthothiazole, thiazoline, oxazole, benzoxazole, naphthoxazole, selenazole, benzoselenazole, naphthoselenazole, 3, 3-dialkylindolenine, imidazole, benzimidazole, . naphthimidazole or pyridine nucleus, R3 and R4 are each alkyl which may be substituted or aralkyl, X 2 is an anion and m is 0 or 1. The emulsions are useful as x-ray recording materials and for recording CRT displays.
