Movement of lenses 84 and 86 may be controlled by machine logic in response to infeed of point size information on a keyboard. The characters are selected by flashing light source 108 at the appropriate time. The position of the disc is monitored by photo-cells 112. The characters are positioned by a mirror 98 on the movable carriage. Line spacing is achieved by moving the film.
