摘要 1323987 Crisp-frying PROCTER & GAMBLE CO 5 May 1972 [15 Nov 1971] 21040/72 Heading A4D [Also in Division B8] A method for the prevention of dough accumulation due to stuck crisps on a carrier of a crisp frying machine in which raw dough pieces are held between pairs of carrier members for passage through a cooking zone comprises resting for the presence of a stuck crisp on a carrier using electric photo-sensors 23, 25 and transmitting a signal to an electronic shift register 31, controlling the discharge of a high pressure jet of fluid medium from a nozzle to remove a stuck crisp, testing for the presence of a stuck crisp beyond the high pressure jet with further photosensors 24, 26 and transmitting a signal to the shift register 31 on sensing a stuck chip and actuating, by means of the shift register, means to prevent a raw and dough piece from being deposited on a carrier holding a stuck crisp. The fluid medium may be frying-oil or steam at a pressure of 1000psi with a nozzle bore of #". The method of preventing dough pieces being deposited on the carrier comprises using a compressed air line 40 to blow the dough piece on to a removal conveyer 42. Alternatively a mechanical stripper may be used. The photo-sensors 23-26 may be replaced by mechanical elements. The crispfrying apparatus with which the method is used is similar to that in Specification 1284283 in which the chip carriers comprise upper carrier members 14 moving on an endless conveyer 10 and lower carrier members 19 on an endless conveyer 15.
