1468541 Bearings DANFOSS AS 17 June 1974 [3 July 1973] 26699/74 Heading F2A A rolling bearing assembly comprises a shaft 1 having a groove 7 defining an inner race and a split ring 9 defining an outer race, the material of the ring being sufficiently resilient to allow expansion of the ring so that the rolling elements 8 can be inserted into the bearing, and the ring being axially located by two inwardly extending annular projections 11, 13 on a surrounding sleeve 5. The split in the ring is produced by applying pressure to an axially directed channel in the outer periphery of the ring. The ring may be of ball bearing steel, and the sleeve of sheet metal. A sealing ring 12 may be included. |
