<p>The cladding is applied in two approx. semi-cylindrical halves. The lower half is poured into a half shelf mould with semi-annular end checks, fitted to the tube and vibrated during pouring. This mould has a detachable liner which is removed with the refractory and burns off in the kiln. The upper half of the cladding is then applied manually, e.g. with a trowel. Both halves are secured to the tube by feathered hooks.</p> |
