<p>1465352 Thermostats DANFOSS AS 29 March 1974 [30 March 1973] 13988/74 Heading G1D [Also in Division F4] A convector comprises an inlet 8 for fresh air, an inlet 7 for air from a room to be heated, an outlet for air to pass into the room and a thermostatically controlled heater 10 arranged therebetween. One sensor 14 is arranged between the heater 10 and the room air inlet, and a second sensor 15 between the heater 10 and the outlet, the cooler sensor controlling the heater 10. As described, the sensors 14, 15 are connected together and form part of a liquid-vapour filled thermostatic system each sensor 14, 15 being of a volume preferably greater than that of the liquid in the system, which liquid condenses in the coldest sensor. Thus, since the position of a valve 11 in heater 10 is determined by the vapour pressure therein which is in equilibrium with the pressure of a reference value spring whose value is determined by knob 12, the heater 10 is controlled by the coldest sensor 14, 15. The sensor 15 may comprise a coiled, capillary tube. In use, one sensor 14 is situated adjacent inlet 3, the second sensor 15 being adjacent the outlet. Normally sensor 14 is operative but if cold fresh air from inlet 8 remains below room temperature, i.e. below temperature sensed by sensor 14, after passing heating element 10, sensor 15 becomes operative. A fan 5 may be employed to ensure a minimum quantity of air passes through the duct 3.</p> |
