<p>A control device set in motion by the lopping device operates the carriage so that, when the tree top is lopped off, the carriage automatically moves from its operating position along the jib to a position away from the end of the stripped and beheaded tree. The branch-stripper consists of a number of blades which are mechanically operated to move from an open position to one around the tree trunk. A hinged arm grips the tree trunk and brings the lopped-off top into a position where the trunk is stripped of its branches. A container takes the stripped trunks.</p> |
