<p>1486583 Film cassettes POLAROID CORP 13 Sept 1974 [21 Sept 1973] 39930/74 Heading G2X A cassette, containing a supply of film sheets which can be withdrawn through a slot in the cassette wall, includes a battery with a separator member between the facing surfaces of the anode and cathode, the separator holding an electrolyte containing an ammonium salt, the cassette also having collector means for the adsorbtion of volatile effluvia, such as ammonia, emanating from the battery. The battery components are housed in a container 26. The electrodes comprise a planar anode 31 (e.g. zinc) and a planar cathode 30 (e.g. manganese dioxide). The separator 32 may be of a fibrous sheet material permeated with an aqueous electrolyte such as ammonium chloride/zinc chloride dispersed in a polymeric binder. Only the central portion 35 of the separator is so permeated, the marginal portions being left free and sealed to the electrodes. The collector means 12 may bean adsorbent fibrous material such as blotting paper, and may comprise a metal salt which forms an ammoniate on contact with ammonia, with which is mixed an adsorbent particulate material for water vapour and other possible effluvia from the battery.</p> |
