Castings of original figures are produced by (a) laying out perforated boards esp. gypsum boards, on the original, the perforations contg. metal sleeves that extend outwards from the upper side of the boards and are surrounded by rubber rings on the extending part, the boards running parallel to the axis of the original, (b) covering the original and the surfaces of the boards directed towards the original with a vulcanisable rubber mass, (c) vulcanising the rubber mass, (d) filling the parts of the ormed rubber cover having a complicated surface geometry with a foamable matl. (e) foaming this matl. (f) placing a curable resin mass on the rubber cover and foamed parts, (g) curing the resin, (h) removing the boards, (i) laying out horizontal boards on the rear side of the original, (j) repeating steps (b)-(g), (k) loosening the screw/nut flanged connections in the sleeves (l) removing the original, (m) coating the inner faces of the rubber cover with a pigment dispersion, (n) applying a cur able synthetic esp. epoxy resin mass, (o) joining the separations, (p) bonding together the separate resin casting parts, (q) curing the casting, (r) demoulding the casting, (s) loosening the screws of the flanged connections, (t) removing the metal sleeves, the cured resin shells and the foam parts, and (u) withdrawing the rubber cover from the finished casting. Exact reproduction of the size and shape of complicated, three dimensional originals. Rapid, elegant process.
|
